Happy National Recovery Month and Suicide Awareness Month!
These are two very important and much needed focal points within the recovery community!
National Recovery Month which started in 1989 is an annual observance held in September to raise awareness about mental health and substance use disorders, and to celebrate the achievements of those in recovery. Its focus is to also highlight advances and best practice therapies, in addition to the treatment providers who work everyday to encourage, support, and help make recovery possible.
Why is National Recovery Month Important?
National Recovery Month plays a vital role in fostering understanding and driving positive change in the fields of addiction and mental health.
The year's theme, “Recovery is REAL (Restoring Every Aspect of Life)”, emphasizes that with the right treatment, support, and resources, recovery is possible!
Here is a great article speaking to the importance of using the appropriate language when speaking to and about the recovering community.

A HeartfeltCONGRATULATIONS
to all who are graduating this month—what a tremendous accomplishment! You've put in the hard work, and it's a moment to truly celebrate.
“First and foremost, I could not have completed this program without the love and support from my family, friends and you! The program made me work hard and find peace and self-love again. I have accomplished so much during this time. I have mended relationships, created new ones, and found a job/corporation that I love. I am excelling as the Director of Nursing [name removed], an opportunity I would not have found without this program. I have become a better nurse, mother, wife, and person! My future is simple, continue sobriety one day at a time, utilize positive coping mechanisms and continue to love myself. I'm proud of my journey and am excited for my future!” —Recent Graduate from the Monitoring Program
If you’ve found monitoring helpful in supporting your day-to-day consistency and success, we want you to know that support doesn’t have to end here. Our Extended Monitoring Program is available as an option—whether you choose to continue now or return at a later time. We're here to walk with you through the next phase of your journey, whenever you're ready.
